Arya Stark
General Comments: A couple of friends got me into Game of Thrones (both the show and the books) and I was immediately enamoured with it. Arya is one of my favorite characters in the show and during the earlier books, and I thought this would be a fun and easy summer costume to do. Costume Construction:
Shirt: I had wanted to make both the top and pants out of linen since it looks like that's what they're made
of, however I couldn't find a color I liked for the shirt. Instead, the shirt is made out of some other type of woven
fabric that I thought worked as a decent substitute. The collar was bunched using string sandwiched between bias tape
insde the shirt that was then pulled to get the bunching. I'm not terribly pleased with how it falls as I should have
added extra fabric around the shoulder area to acheive a nicer (and more comfortable) effect.
Wig Styling: The wig is a lace-front wig that was bought off of ebay. I made the mistake of cutting the excess lace off before adding hair to the sides, so I had to do so later on using tulle and separately bought wefts. Unfortunately, the color of the wefts don't match the wig exactly, but it'll have to make due. The hair was pulled up into a bun at the back and some of the additional wefts were used to make the braids that come down the front. Props: Needle was made by my dad out of wood. Pictures
