I told myself I'd never get into Hetalia, and that I most certainly would never cosplay from it. Ummm....whoops? During exam period, I was craving something cracky and brainless. Consequently, I ended up marathoning the series, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Just for laughs, I started browsing pictures to see if there was anything that looked fun to cosplay. Then this happened. Liechtenstein was an easy costume to make, and it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Luckily, I had a chunk of the materials I needed lying around the house. Overall, I'm very happy with the way the costume turned out. The shirt was made with a lightweight cotton, some black scrap material, and elastics. Since the outfit is based on one picture, the collar took a bit of interpreting to do. I ended up making it a part of the shirt and kind of scrunchy for lack of a better word. The bodice was made out of scraps of black suiting material, black lining, and interfacing. I have a vest that fits about as snuggly as I wanted the bodice to fit to me, so I used that as a base pattern. There's a zipper on one side of it so I can get in and out of it. The apron was made out of a medium weight cotton, while the blue skirt is Tianzi's skirt being recycled. The sash is a polyester with interfacing, and the design was hand painted by me. Pictures
