General Comments:

With my growing love for Prince of Tennis, I just had to cosplay someone from the series at my first convention. I chose Ryoma because 1) I'm just about his height and 2) I loved his snarky and bratty attitude. He was also my favorite character at the time, so I figured it would be the obvious choice to cosplay.

Costume Construction:

The costume wasn't anything spectacular and to be honest, I was a little dissapointed with how it turned out. I guess I can't really complain much since I procrasted until the last minute. The jacket was never finished on time and I don't think I'll ever get around to completing it. The shirt was an old school shirt that I cut up and modified. No matter how much I looked, I couldn't find the shade of blue I wanted. I ended up dyeing all of my fabric. In the end, it still wasn't the blue I wanted, but oh well. The collar was a little crooked and the sleeves felt a little poofy for some reason. The Seigaku logo was ironed on with iron-on sheets.

I believe the shorts were made with some sort of black heavy cotton. The wig was cut down from a shoulder length wig. The cap was bought at the dollar store and then I glued felt on it to make the "R". I borrowed my sister's tennis racket since it was closer to red than mine was.
