Bleach was one of my favorite series at the time and Hitsugaya was my favorite guy character. I was going to cosplay him before I did Hinamori, but I was unsure about his hair since I'd never done that much styling on a wig before. I think that I did a fairly good job on it. It wasn't very hard to do because I already had the shinigami outfit from my previous Bleach cosplay. All I had to make was the sword, the captain's jacket and the wig.

The captain's jacket was made out of a light cotton or polyester (I can't remember). I didn't want to use a thicker material because two layers of heavy material in the middle of the summer is bad enough. The black parts were all painted on with fabric paint, including the symbol thingy on the back. For the bottom part, I used a stencil and for the back, I used tape to keep the lines straight.

The wig drove me nuts in more ways than one. When I tried to spike the wig, you could see the mesh cap under it so I figured that I would need to buy extentions. I then learned that you can't buy extentions in pure white, so I ended up with packs of extremely light blond. Trying to salvage the situation, I decided to try sharpie wig die to get them to be a very light silver. In the end, I didn't bother using a single extention that I made. Instead of adding extentions, I wore a white swimming cap under the wig. It worked well and even helped keep the wig in place. My only complaint was that it was really hot.

Since Hitsugaya's sword is way too long to buy and then modify like I did with Hinamori, my dad made it for me. He even made the sheath for it which I thought was beautiful. He even made the design on the hand guard. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Thank you so much dad! The only thing I did to the sword was wrap the hilt and that turned out like shit 'cause I haven't got a clue how to wrap it properly, nor did I have time to learn prior to the con.
